Centre Manager
Tania
Kia Ora! My name is Tania Jurgeleit. I have over 16 years Early Childhood experience within New Zealand and I have spent time overseas as well. I have a passion for ensuring children have a strong foundation for their social, emotional, physical and mental development. Strong attachments with key caregivers are vital for children’s holistic development, along with partnerships between all of those involved in a child’s life. Within a New Zealand context this includes a strong partnership between Tangata Whenua and Tangata Tiriti. I enjoy ensuring teams are equipped with all they need to succeed in providing the best care and education for our tamariki. I believe every voice is important and deserves to be acknowledged. I look forward to working with and alongside you to provide the care and education our tamariki deserve.
Assistant Head Teacher (Registered Kaiako)
Lisa
I am originally from the UK I have been in New Zealand for over 20 years now. My husband is from South Africa and together we have three children Ariana, Raniesha and Matteo. I have been a teacher for over 10 years and really enjoy working alongside children and their families. As a teacher here I want to be able to build respectful, reciprocal relationships with you and your children. By working alongside you and your children I hope to be part of creating an environment that helps children reach their full potential. I enjoy watching children taking the lead in their learning and what they want to achieve and being available to support them on their journey.

Wendy
Kia ora my name is Wendy Windelburn.
I live in Lower Hutt with my husband and 3 dogs.
Young children have always been my passion from a very young age. I have been working in early childhood for over 30 years now and still love it just as much now as back then. I love building whakawhanaungatanga with tamariki and whanau and earning their trust too.
I like to teach tamariki using a holistic approach, similar to te whare tapa wha and by building up their mana so they become competent confident learners.

Rebecca
I began teaching at Marlborough Centre in 2023 after completing my Bachelor of Education (ECE), and with 5 years experience as kaiako.
I have a passion for science in the curriculum, for supporting the development of social and emotional competencies, and teaching with aroha. I believe relationships are the cornerstone of teaching and learning, as such I work hard to establish and maintain them with tamariki and whānau.
I live locally and enjoy all types of crafts, spending time with loved ones, the natural world, reading, Lego, and being a bit of a pop culture geek!

Michelle
Hi, I'm Michelle.
I've been teaching in ECE for over 30 years and have been at a Marlborough Centre for the past 15 years. I have a passion for teaching our future generation. My philosophy is to foster children's positive sense of self, respect their mana, and encourage them to be risk-takers both emotionally and physically so that they can " reach for the stars" in their life journey.
I love the whanautanga spirit Marlborough Centre has, as we really value family and community as a community-based centre. We are a trust, so as a non-profit centre our ratios are high, and everything we have gets invested back into Marlborough Centre.

Ana
Kia ora! Ko Ana tōku ingoa. My name is Ana and I have been working at Marlborough street Childcare centre since 2022. After spending some time teaching English in Vietnam, I decided to take the next step in my teaching career and become an early childhood teacher.
I completed my graduate diploma in early childhood education at Victoria University of Wellington in 2021 and have been working towards my full registration since.
I enjoy working with all age groups here at Marlborough St and love getting to know the tamariki and their whānau. I aim to provide a caring, warm and safe environment where tamariki have the autonomy and support to grow, learn and become confident and competent individuals.
When I am not working, I enjoy drawing, walking my dog, listening to music and travelling wherever and whenever I can. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with you and learning from you too.
